Thoughts and Prayer
With joy you shall draw water from the springs of salvation.
Isaiah 12:3

We continue to celebrate the season of creation this beautiful autumn. The Anglican Church of Canada is our nearest neighbor in the worldwide Anglican Communion. Their Archbishop (think presiding bishop) is a remarkable woman who only began her tenure as archbishop last summer. She is the first woman to hold that position. Enjoy her reflection for this week below:

Yours in Christ, Polly

Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. on ZOOM

HURRICANE SALLY: WAYS TO HELP
Hurricane Sally made landfall near Gulf Shores, Alabama, at a Category 2 storm in the early morning hours of September 16, 2020. The slow-moving storm brought with it flooding rains and widespread power outages. The Episcopal News Service reports that in the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast at least four Episcopal churches sustained property damage, as well as the diocese’s Camp Beckwith in Fairhope, Alabama.

Financial Update
St. Luke's Financial Update--and NEWS ON GRANT!

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”

I am reminded everyday to be grateful for God's work being done here, in Scottsboro, through the love of the good people at St. Luke's. On behalf of those whom we serve and our St. Luke's family, thank you. Here is an update on our general finances to date this year:

Budget to Date (Jan thru Aug):  $101,200
Giving to Date:  $92,329
Total Income to date with PPP loan: $103,529

In addition, St. Luke's pantry has received wonderful donations, totaling $5233 from members and folks in the community who see or hear of our work. With these gifts, on top of what we already budget for our pantry ministry, we've been able to redouble our efforts to provide substantial food and a few needed supplies (think toilet paper and soap) to families in need.

NEWS: St. Luke's applied and has been approved to receive $15,000 in grant money from the CARES ACT. This money is to be used for our Food assistance ministry (aka Pantry) and for upgrading our internet infrastructure and digital communications to tell folks in the community about our ministries here at St. Luke's. We're very excited to have this helpful boost!!

Please be in touch if you have any questions regarding our parish finances or to ask about your own pledge status.
Faithfully, Polly

 Food Pantry News
