From Ms. Kramer

Dear Community of Saints Families,

We want to thank everyone for their patience, grace, and collaboration these first few days of what is comparable to opening a new school.  We know there have been a few hiccups here and there, but overall we feel very good about how everything is going-and we hope you and your students feel the same way too!  We know this is all a big adjustment-it is for us too--we will all get better together.  We will ask for family feedback in two weeks once everything is up and running in full routine.

A reminder that our families are required to screen each of their students at home before leaving to school.  Below is helpful information to guide families on screening their students and when to keep them home, etc.

A Guide for Families for School Attendance HERE

When students arrive to school, they will be screened again by COS staff--this will occur while students are still in the vehicle and before walkers enter the building.  Bus riders will be screened before loading onto their bus, and won't be screened upon entry into school unless staff observes new symptoms.  Students and staff who do not pass morning screenings will not be allowed into the building.

Another screening will occur midday.  Any students who do not pass the screening will be further observed by office staff, and families will be contacted to pick up their student right away.  Students will not be allowed to return until they have consulted with one of our designated COVID contacts: Ms. Kramer, Mrs. Lopez and/or Mr. Yannarelly.

It is ESSENTIAL that we all commit to these procedures and practices--our goal is to have in person learning offered for as many days as possible this school year, and the most important variable in achieving this is by individual social responsibility.

STAR Students Begin Next Week!

Every week we will be acknowledging a student from each of our K-8 grade level classrooms, as well a K-5 and 6-8 student in specialists' classes.  These individuals will be recognized for going above and beyond in either the STAR tip of the week, or in one or more of our S.T.A.R. domains (Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Respect).

STAR students will be announced during our morning announcements on Fridays, as well as in our newsletter!  Also, instead of an out of uniform pass this year, weekly STAR students will receive a Chick-fil-A treat card!  Full distance learners are included in this and we will send certificates and treat cards through the mail as needed.  We look forward to celebrating our students' successful behaviors!
