Prayers for the members of Claremont UMC.

In our prayers...

"Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my supplications in your faithfulness; answer me in your righteousness." ~ Psalm 143:1
Dear Friends,

We hold Gwen Carr in our prayers as she grieves the death of her sister, Cynthia Stubblefield. Cynthia passed away on September 12. We hold Gwen, and all of Cynthia's loved ones in our prayers, that they would know God's loving, comforting presence as they grieve and celebrate her life.

Please continue to hold Bill, Jennifer, and Garrett Willsey close in your prayers as they grieve the death of their wife and mother, Candy Zhao-Willsey. May they also know God's loving, comforting presence as they grieve and celebrate Candy's life.

We pray for Moon Young Kong as she continues in her ordination candidacy process, interviewing before the East District Committee on Ordained Ministry for recommendation to go before the Board of Ordained Ministry. May Moon feel God's loving, calming, and guiding presence.

We give thanks to God for the health and safety of Tayde Perez and her friend after they experienced a serious accident. We are grateful!

We continue to hold Andy Hubbard in prayer as he recovers from the major surgery he underwent inAugust. May Andy know God's loving, strengthening, and healing touch.

We hold in prayer the members of BethEl AME Church in Fontana. Members of Claremont UMC meets together with members fo BethEl AME monthly to build a relationship and to partner in dismantling racism and seeking racial justice. We pray for God's blessings and peace for their members, many of whom experience ongoing and systemic racism.

We pray for the of Black men, women, and children who are targeted by police. We pray, too, for all who suffer from oppression, and violence due to the racist systems and beliefs, that God would show up and bring about righteousness and justice. We know that God is working for Good in this world, that God is working for liberation of all who are oppressed and discriminated against. Just as Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to his disciples, we know that the Holy Spirit remains with all of us as well, and may we all work with the Holy Spirit to eradicate and dismantle racism.

We pray for all who are suffering from Covid19, and all who are caring for those with the virus. We pray that they would know God's healing presence, God's comfort and strength, and that God would restore their health and keep them healthy.

If you know of anyone in the CUMC family who should be lifted up in prayer and included in a future prayer email, please contact the church office either by replying to this email, or by calling (909) 624-9021.  Please be sure to have their permission to be included on the prayer list and in the prayer email.

We pray for God's loving and healing touch to be upon all who are on our hearts and minds.  We ask for God's blessing to be upon each one, upon each of you reading, and upon all of our loved ones.

Blessings,
Jessica Johnston
