Invitation to Data Analysis workshop

Following up on the results of the spring ORSO workshop, it was decided that the best way to proceed was to have more frequent meetings of the individual working groups (between meetings of the larger organisation).  Now it's time to schedule the Data Analysis meeting!

I'd like to schedule the meeting for the beginning of October; here is a link to a doodle poll where you can vote on times you would be available: https://doodle.com/poll/4ameykdmwriwcr53
The agenda for the workshop will be to discuss the current state of the various tasks defined at https://github.com/reflectivity/analysis/issues as well as identifying people who can take ownership of those tasks.

Main focus areas remain:
  • agreeing on a reference calculation function (kernel) implemented in something like C
  • identifying shared vocabularies for fitting problem definition
  • identifying existing software libraries for analysis
  • documenting best practices for analysis

Andrew Nelson agreed to be co-chair for this year (and there were no other volunteers), so thank you very much Andrew!

Hope to see you all in October.
