B3D Central 3D Printing Service was suspended in March while we developed new safety procedures for staff and customers. The service resumes as of today, Monday, September 21. We implemented Healthy Printing Procedures, including wearing masks and gloves while operating shared 3D printers and regularly sanitizing tools and equipment. Every object printed for a customer is sealed in a plastic bag immediately after completion and is then packaged and labeled for shipment to branches via delivery.
There are several procedure changes to ensure the health and safety of all involved. A valid Baltimore County Public Library card number is now required to request a 3D print. This includes student accounts. Payment for the object is also required before the object is sent to the branch for curbside pickup.
