Type 1 diabetes protocol (in the works with IPTN in Canada)

•         Clinical implementation
•         Scientific rationale

Type 2 clinical protocol

• Based on “general guidelines” housed at LowCarb USA
• More work done on this at Diet Doctor, IPTN & by Murdoch et al. 
• Add: more specific information for T2DM; behavioral nutrition support; etc.   

Work with Education Team on Prediabetes & Type 2 Diabetes Patient Toolkit

Other ideas?

Work with Education committee on a CME tailored to dietitians; would involve collecting baseline data on what knowledge & skills are already in place and/or available.

Announcement

The Institute for Personalized Therapeutic Nutrition (in Canada) is hosting a conference on October 3 that is focused on making remission and reversal of type 2 diabetes part of the standard of care: Type 2 Diabetes: Moving from Management to Remission.
Might be a good source of inspiration for work we can do!
