The results are in!

Thank you to all those that participated in our 70s turn 50 survey! Out of the 28 buildings built between 1970-72 on the list, here are the top five favorites:

We’ll be creating short documentary films of each of the buildings, and premiering them at a virtual Annual Walking Tour event. Mark your calendars for October 24th at 4:30pm!

2020 Docomomo_US_HI Annual Membership Meeting

Our Annual Membership Meeting this year will be a little different than years past. Instead of holding the event at a coveted mid-century modern gem in Honolulu, we’ll adapt to the times and will be holding it virtually. It will be on the same day as our Annual Walking Tour, and Docomomo_US_HI members are invited to join. Event details and an RSVP will be sent out soon.

The Midcentury Architecture of Alfred Preis: An Austrian Refugee and Hawai‘i Regional Modernist

Laura McGuire, Director of Undergraduate Studies and Assistant Professor, School of Architecture, University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, will be giving a talk on the architecture of Alfred Preis on October 15th.
