Rates payment extended
At the August Council meeting an extension to Council's business support package was endorsed to provide further assistance to local businesses. Amongst other packages, rates relief was a priority with the following support:
Rates payment deferrals have been extended to 31 March 2020 for the September 2020 rates upon application with no interest charged on any deferred payments
Eligible commercial businesses affected by Covid-19 are able to receive a 25% discount upon application
Businesses that are a commercial tenant of a Council owned property will be eligible for further deferments until 31 December 2020
Applications now open for third round of business support fund
As part of the expansion of the business support package recently announced by the Victorian Government, applications for round three grants are now open to eligible businesses impacted by COVID-19.
Through this third round of funding eligible businesses will receive grants of $10,000, $15,000 or $20,000 depending on a business's annual payroll.
Free workshops and webinars for Victorian businesses
The Australian Retail Association is offering free workshops and training to business owners and managers in Victoria.
Upcoming webinars include 'Get strategic with e-Commerce' and 'Start smart with online customer experience' as well as webinars and training aboutVisual Merchandising, Leadership and Customer Service.
'If your business has been closed due to restrictions, use this time to put COVID safe plans in place. Ensure your staff are informed and educated about the requirements and expectations '.
