The Notorious (and wealthy) R.B.G
Ruth Bader Ginsburg was... Wealthy
Last week, we explored the idea of wealth. My favorite definition described wealth as the ability to do what you want, when you want, with who you want, for as long as you want to.
Isn't she a great example of that?
RBG dedicated her life to fighting for all people to be able to live and do as they please.
Some of RBG's accomplishments
What she means to me...
Just a little over a year ago, conversations about money left me feeling alienated and frustrated. Quickly, I realized I wasn't alone. Many of the women (and men!) around me felt that intimidating finance-vibe too. To chip away at some of that, I decided to start my own financial conversation-- and share it via email (!)
Without RBG's work, the majority of our financial conversations wouldn't be possible. So much of my research and writing has been on a subject shaped by RBG's legacy: women and money.
3 things RBG taught me about money:
1. When women have access to money, we all win.
2. Financial independence is the root (😉) of all independence.
3. For centuries, American law has made economic discrimination seem like a "favor" to women. Don't let others handle your money for you.
You got this.
