Dear Parents of St. Bede's,

I have a couple of quick updates for you!

First, we're organizing a family-friendly service for St. Francis Day on Sunday, October 4 at 9:30 a.m. PDT. (Zoom meeting information will be shared a little closer to the date.) The usual readings will be replaced by illustrated stories from a children's Bible and I'll give a short kid's sermon, among other tweaks to the liturgy. I'd love to see you there, and even more, I'd love for your family to participate! You could ...
  • Read a story from the children's Bible

  • Draw pictures (or make other art) inspired by St. Francis to be shown during the prelude and anthem

  • Write or lead the Prayers of the People
Let me know if you're interested in one of these roles or have other ideas. 😊

Second, please register below to make blankets for LifeMoves that will be given to families in transitional housing. The "no-sew throws" from JOANN are fun and easy to make, and a good activity for any child who can tie knots. I'll host a Zoom open house this Saturday, September 26 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. PDT if you want to drop by and make blankets "together apart." Otherwise, you're welcome to make them on your own time. I'll pick up the finished blankets next week and deliver them to LifeMoves.

All best wishes,
Brendan Deocariza-Nee
Children's & Youth Minister

“The ultimate Mystery of being, the ultimate Truth, is Love. This is the essential structure of reality. ... There is in Being an infinite desire to give itself in love and this gift of Self in love is for ever answered by a return of love ... and so the rhythm of the universe is created.” – Saint Bede
