Fearrington Farmers' Market
Tuesdays, 4 - 6 pm
April through November

It's fall, y'all!

Tuesday is the first official day of fall, and it's certainly felt like a change of seasons lately.  Cooler nights, pleasant daytime temperatures, a crispness in the air and the first hints of color in the trees.  It's been so nice to be able to open up the windows and let the house air out, rather than being sealed up tight with the air conditioner running full blast.  My electricity bill will appreciate the change in seasons, too :)

We continue to see signs of autumn at market, with plenty of fall greens, salad ingredients, and winter squash available this week.  Mums are back, and you'll find new seasonal flavors from our bakers and brewers.  Grab a light jacket and come celebrate the season with us!

Perry-winkle Farm

We are back and feeling pretty rested.  We spent the majority of our 2-week break in the mountains of southwest Virginia and then capped off our time with a few days at our friends' place at Atlantic Beach.  We are so grateful for Victoria and Taij and all they did to keep Perry-winkle humming along while we were gone.

We will be back this week with lots of stuff, most notably we will be bringing BEANS!  For those of you that have been asking about “when will our beans come in?”...  there will be some this week, and we hope for many weeks to come.  We greatly prefer picking beans in the late summer/fall.

We will also have a cooler of arugula, an assortment of sweet peppers, bunches of scallions, some eggplant, and a basket of Terra Rosa potatoes.  In the flower department there will be a rack full of mixed bouquets and a bucket of glads.  And there will be eggs from our pastured hens.

We look forward to seeing everyone this week.

Sweet Little Something

Dear Friends,

I'm looking forward to being back at the market this week!  If I trust the weatherman, it shall be a glorious day!

I've been saying that I would start bringing more chocolate when the temperatures got back to being reasonable, and it is time!  So, this week, look for the chocolate hazelnut and praline pear tart on the site.  We're done for the season with the fig raspberry tarts, but we still have lemon tart, chocolate caramel, pear almond, and apple!  A few more peach crumble coffee cakes before they get retired too.

Also, not enough to be on the website but planning on bringing 5 slices of vanilla cherry and olive oil cakes, and about as many of lemon and cassis cakes. Ask for them when you come to my table.  Well, you know how it's done.  Click here, make your selection and I'll bring your goodies to you!

Can't wait for your friendly faces,
See you on Tuesday,
Cheers,
A.
