Lectures at St. Ignatius 2021 | “Catholic Women: Agents of Peace and Trust in the Church and the World"
by Fr. Michael Hilbert, SJ, Associate Pastor

I am pleased to announce our parish lecture series for 2021, and I encourage all to save the dates!

The United Nations has designated 2021 The International Year of Peace and Trust. We have unapologetically coopted this theme for our annual lecture series, enlarging on the title in order to focus on the energies, talents, and contributions of Catholic women as agents of peace and trust in the Church and the world.

The four lectures will offer us extraordinary insights into critical areas of public service where Catholic women are taking leadership roles, changing lives, inspiring their colleagues, and living the call to discipleship.

Weekly Wisdom
In his Monday, September 21st homily, Fr. Hallinan affirms the vital part that each of has "in the life of the Church, in building up our Church. Perhaps it may be limited simply to praying for the Church. If we are called to pray for the Church, we should be praying for the Church fervently each day. Others perhaps can contribute of their time, their talent, and their treasure. What can you do to help build up the Church of Jesus Christ?"
From Codependency to Compassion

In this week's episodePastoral Associate Brian Pinter explores "From Codependency to Compassion."

On Sunday, June 7th, Fr. Yesalonia announced an ambitious expansion of our livestream capabilities at the parish.

By the fall, we will have the capability to livestream Sunday Mass from Church. Additionally, screens will be installed in the Church and so that pre-recorded music can be broadcast into the Church during services.

Eventually, services and events will be livestreamed from the Lady Chapel, the Church, and Wallace Hall.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul's Christmas Angel project, a beloved tradition where SIL parishioners purchase gifts for a sister parish in need, will be happening this Advent. The program will have a different look and feel this year.

Full details will be announced in early October.

Do you have a friend, family member, or a loved one who is considering becoming Catholic? We want you to know about a program at the parish.

During this program, interested individuals have the opportunity to inquire into the Catholic faith, to come to know Jesus through the Gospels, to pray, and to prepare for the Easter Sacraments. This process is also open to Catholic adults who have not received the Sacraments of First Communion or Confirmation.

For more information about this process, which is called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), call M. Fullam at 212-288-3588 or email church@saintignatiusloyola.org.
THANK YOU to all the Priests, staff, and Music Ministry of the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola for their extraordinary efforts during these difficult times. You strengthen our faith, nurture our sense of community, and give us hope.
