Well done to all the children in Breakfast Club you have all been working so hard to stick to the new routine in the hall.

Children with inhalers

By Mrs Cunningham on Sep 08, 2020 02:25 pm

All children who use inhalers -whether frequently or occasionally –  need to have them in school.

The class teachers have sent home some today which have expired over the summer

Please can parents send in new labelled inhalers by the end of this week at the latest as they must have their own individual inhalers to use at school.

I will be sending out another set of review paperwork to those families that have not completed their 2020 review paperwork as we need this in school by the end of the week also please.

Thank you for your assistance

Carriageway Improvements in your area

We will shortly be working in your area as part of the Council’s 4 year investment programme to ‘Protect, Care and Invest to create a better borough’. Between 2020 and 2024 we are investing over £50m to keep neighbourhoods safe, clean and well connected.  The ‘Pride in our Community’ Highways Capital Programme will deliver improvements to infrastructure including roads, footpaths, parking, sustainable transport, street furniture, drains and structures.

Our vision is to ‘Keep Telford Moving’ and in 20/21 we will invest £22m to deliver 200 improvement schemes across the borough. These improvements will be achieved in partnership with the Council’s Principal Contractor  Balfour Beatty.

We will shortly be carrying out Carriageway Improvements in Pinfold Croft, Waters Upton, to improve the condition of the carriageway.   The surface treatment works are due to commence on 23rd September for approximately 5 days (weather permitting).

The works will be completed by our new partner and highways contractor Balfour Beatty, who will be using their specialist sub-contractor JCPS.

We will be working between 07:30am-16:00pm on weekdays under a Road Closure and will have our dedicated teams on site to assist you during this time to help you get past the working areas safely should you need to do so.  Please ensure that children are supervised, do not play near the working areas and all pets are kept away from the works.

Due to the developing situation with COVID-19, these dates may be subject to change and schemes could be cancelled or deferred at short notice depending on resource availability or guidance from government. We will do our utmost to deliver work

Balfour Beatty will be the lead delivering this work in partnership with the Council and our details are below, for any questions or queries relating to this scheme please contact us at our new highways hub:

TelfordHighwaysHub@balfourbeatty.com

For more information about the Council’s Pride in Our Community programme please visit www.telford.gov.uk/pride. The full list of works planned for your area can be found on the projects page.

Reminder regarding times for drop off and collection of the children

By Mrs Cunningham on Sep 07, 2020 08:50 am

Dear Parents/Carers,

We had a slight build-up of traffic on site today during one of the drop off windows. Although it cleared relatively quickly, I am mindful that we do not want a situation where traffic is queuing on the main road. The staggered drop off arrangement worked very well last week. Please could you help support the school community by:

Arriving at your designated time for drop off/collection. If you arrive early, you will encounter outbound traffic from the carpark.

  • leaving the school site as soon as your child has entered their classroom – this will ensure the carpark is clear for the next drop off window
  • please remember to keep a 2-metre distance while on the playgrounds. 2 metre markers have been added for your convenience
  • only one adult to enter the school site with their child – this will keep numbers as low as possible.
  • please ensure that your child stays with you and does not run around the playground unsupervised

I understand that this routine is far from normal, but it has been put in place to ensure that the school community remains as safe as possible and everyone is able to access the school site safely and in a timely way. Thank you for your continued support with this.

Adam Ames
