Adapting The Royal for Winter

It's been a minute since you last heard from us, although we're sure we've seen a lot of you in The Royal since our reopening! We've had a fantastic few months since we opened our doors again in July and we are thrilled that so many of you have been enjoying the new beer garden. The renovation work we did on our outside space throughout lockdown has been crucial to our successful reopening, allowing us to safely seat more people even with our reduced inside capacity. As the air gets cooler and the nights start to get shorter it is now time for us to focus on how we continue to make this new space work for you. Winter is going to bring a new set of challenges for us to overcome, and we hope you'll stick with us every step of the way.

Our covered seating area outside was completed in August and allows us to accommodate customers outside even when it’s raining. You don't need us to tell you how rainy Lancaster can be, so it was never in doubt that we needed to find a way to keep people dry, but what about keeping people warm?

The guys from M.L.J Electrical Services have been with us this week installing patio heaters outside so we can keep you toasty warm even when it's a bit chilly out there.
