Liturgy to pray at home 24th Sunday of Ordinary Time

Dear Friends,

I'm very pleased to be able to say that the new government guidelines on 'the rule of 6' do not apply to places of worship, so please do continue coming to church if you would like. It is important that we stick to government guidelines about social distancing, giving our data to the NHS test and trace system and not socialising after the service. It is very sad that we don't have the fullness of our church services as they used to be - I can't wait to be able to sing hymns, have coffee after church and hold big events again - we pray that the time will come soon. We can still worship God and share in God's great gift to us of Holy Commununion, so let us give thanks for that. The PCC has decided to hire an organist for each Sunday service to enrich our experience of worship, and we look forward to welcoming Mas tomorrow. After tomorrow's mass, Oszae, the son of Abimbola and Tom, will be baptised. Unfortunately, to allow Tom and Abimbola to invite all their family and friends, there will be no spaces at the baptism itself. But Osaze will be joining us for mass so we can welcome him into our church and pray for hi,.

Do join us for mass tomorrow at 10. If you would like to come you can reserve a seat here.

If you would like to join us at home the mass will be streamed here. You do not need to be a member of Facebook to watch it. You can download the liturgy to pray at home here, which includes the sermon.

With love and prayers to you all,

Fr Ben

Hornsey Food Bank
Hornsey Food Bank has now moved to the Middle Lane Methodist Church. It operates between 11 and 1 each Thursday, If anybody would like to volunteer you would be very welcome. We particularly need people with cars to organise deliveries. You can also donate food. Any perishable food (bread, vegetables and fruit) needs to be brought to the foodbank on the day between 10 and 11. Any non-perishable items can either go directly to the foodbank between 10 and 11 or 1 and 2 on Thursdays or can be dropped off at Holy Innocents and I'll make sure it gets to the right place. We also take financial donations via the just giving page.. We particularly need instant coffee, cooking oil, olive oil, breakfast cereals and jam.

Saturday Cleaning Morning
It would be great to have some people to help clean the church on a Saturday morning. We’ll begin with mass at 10.00 and start cleaning at 10.30. Do come and join us!

Harvest Festival
We’ll celebrate our Harvest Festival on October 4th. Due to Covid we can’t have our normal harvest lunch, but we hope people will stay for a bring your own picnic after the service. We’ll eat outside if it’s nice, or inside if it’s wet, maintaining social distancing.

Bible Study
We’re hoping to do a Bible Study on the book of Ruth, perhaps by zoom or perhaps socially distanced in church. If you are interested, please let me know and how you would prefer to do it.
