THE MOVE TO VERO BEACH
We have gone through the rough process of saying goodbye to our home, friends, church and family in Pittsburgh. Our home base is now in Vero Beach, Florida in the same neighborhood as Carrie's parents. We took a week to vacation when we got to Florida (we did absolutely nothing; it was wonderful and needed!) and now we are back at home base trying to find a routine. Cortina, Paisley and Soren are all enrolled at Keystone Academy online and will continue with Keystone on the island. Barrett will be studying for his oral ordination exams, and working on all of the logistics for our upcoming move to Abaco!

THE PLAN (ish)
It's a struggle to put a plan into writing because we know that things change daily. The reality of our world right now is that timing is very flexible and uncertain. With that said, we are working to get to Abaco and we would love your prayers as we work through the process. (Even in the editing process of this newsletter, we’ve had to change this section.) Barrett will continue to work on logistics and study for ordination exams until the Presbytery meeting on October 17th. Because of the sketchiness of the internet on Abaco, we thought it wise for him to remain in Florida so he can be available for meetings. After the Presbytery meeting he will go to Abaco and get our house ready (YES!!! We have a house!!!!), join Gabe Swing at Kirk of the Pines, and start work on the ground in Marsh Harbour. Carrie and the kids will be staying in Vero Beach, working on school, and preparing to move all our stuff (in a storage unit) to Abaco. They plan on getting to Abaco toward late October or early November.

PRAYER
Praise:
-We have a house! We will be renting a 3 bedroom house in Marsh Harbour
-The house is fully furnished and is very sturdy (it made it through Dorian)
-Partners are continuing to join our team and God continues to provide in amazing ways
Requests:
-Logistics: COVID tests, timing, flights, paperwork, and house prep
-The Bahamas: Things are not good economically for the people in the Bahamas (1 in 4 people cannot buy food due to lack of income in the tourist industry)
-Barrett preparing for his ordination exams
