Must address OCP through climate emergency lens
Transition Sooke volunteer Susan Belford will address Sooke Council on the Official Community Plan and Climate Change at its Monday September 14, 7 pm meeting.
Transition Sooke is urging Council to make Climate Action the over-arching framework for Sooke’s new OCP and to direct the community conversation on the OCP to address the Climate Emergency in every aspect of community life.
"Sooke supported CRD’s Declaration of a Climate Emergency in 2019 to move to carbon neutrality by 2030," said Belford. "Sooke does not have a Climate Action Plan so the OCP is the logical place to address the Climate Emergency."

The delegations will be right after 7 pm at the beginning of the Council meeting.
