General News

Dear CT Club Whanau,
Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa. Greetings to you all.

Well we didn't get the news we'd all been hoping for just yet about Alert Levels - but it's looking promising for next week. No doubt like you all, we're glued to the media announcements waiting for positive news.

We had an email from Clubs NZ, thanking all Clubs for adhering to the Alert Level Two rules - so well done to all members and staff here. They said they have received a number of complaints (not about our Club!), but thankfully none resulting in enforcement action - so as we know, we're just to keep on doing what we're doing for now. Other places may not be adhering to all the rules, but we are confident that we're doing it right and keeping everyone as safe and happy as we can.
Fingers and toes crossed everyone please for next week! In the meantime here's a lovely barrel of flowers for you all to enjoy - these beautiful specimens are on our deck before you walk down to the pool.

Hopefully this is our last reminder about Alert Level 2!

We're eagerly awaiting the next announcement regarding Alert Levels  but for now  we're still operating the same way as the last few weeks, so expect to scan and sign in when you get here please.
 - Please sign in when you arrive (if you've got the COVID tracer app on your cellphone then please scan that as you come in, but that's for your records - we still require you to sign our contact tracing register please).
 - You'll be seated at a table when you arrive and be assigned a wait person - this lovely person will bring you your food and drinks - so sit back and enjoy! It won't be for much longer so make the most of it.
 - You may leave your table to head out to the smokers' area, to use the bathroom of course and to head up to the bar to pay just before you leave.
 - Wash hands, sanitise, and as much as we love you all - please don't visit if you or anyone in your immediate bubble is ill.

Swimming Pool and Pool Keys
Following on from our beautiful pool pic from last week (and the weather about the same today - in fact, I might just nip down to the pool right now and take another pic for you....) we've started sending out pool key invoices  for the year 2020/2021.

Not quite as sunny as last week's (possibly slightly edited) pic, but lovely none the less!

If you don't want a pool key this year please return it to the bar asap so we may reallocate it to another member.
Keys are $25 for the year, and give you access to the pool gate at the bottom of the carpark by the poolhouse. This means you don't need to walk through the Club to access the pool, and more importantly, that you can use the pool outside of Club opening hours. If you'd like a pool key, please fill out an application form at the bar - they take a couple of days to process but we'll get you a key as soon as we can. While we're on the subject of the pool, don't forget about our gas BBQs down there by the poolhouse - $5.00 to get the key to unlock (and this covers the cost of the gas for the BBQ) - organise at the bar. Roll on summer BBQs!

And if you needed more proof that summer actually WILL arrive this year after the dire last few months, here's a wee reminder that Daylight Saving starts on Sunday 27th September - that's next week! Clocks go forward one hour. The excitement!!

Membership Cards - thanks to all members who've picked theirs up! We've still got a fair few here waiting for their owners though - please read the following and take appropriate action.
  - If you're an existing member and you've renewed your membership by paying your subscription then your card is in the boxes at the sign in table - please ask the person manning the table to get it for you. Please don't retrieve it yourself - we've had a few muddled up accidentally and it makes it harder to locate the cards (they're in numerical order so we're trying to keep it that way!).

Please come and take me home!

 -  If you've not paid, then I haven't printed your card yet. You're very welcome to pay at the bar - they'll let me know and I'll print your card the next time I'm at the Club.
 -  If you've asked me to post your card out, then you have either just received it or will be about to receive it in the mail. We know it can take a while sometimes for the post to get there!
 - If you're a brand new member, then I will post your card out  - there's a letter and a Member Handbook that we like to give you when you're new, so it's easier to post all of that out in one go.

Very Important note about membership - remember our membership draws? It was a while ago that we last held them so we don't blame you if they're just a faint distant memory. The good news is, that once we get back to normal, COVID-speaking, we'll be resuming them! To be eligible to be able to win, you must be a fully paid up member and have your card with you on the night. So please - pay your membership if you've not already paid it, and pick up your card!

Questions? Drop me a line at office@ctclubrotorua.co.nz attention Sarah.

Motorsports Car Sales Courtesy Van

Our van is still operating at Alert Level 2 with the following conditions:
Please don't sit in the passenger seat beside the driver.
We can have a maximum of 6 passengers in the van in any one trip - anyone you sit beside must be part of your immediate bubble.
Please use the hand sanitiser inside the van.
Please don't use the van / come to the Club if you're feeling unwell.

Our van operates
Thursday to Sunday from 3:00pm.
Please continue to give us plenty of notice if you can that you'd like a pick up on these days - give us a call on 3478301 during opening hours, go through to the bar and book your pick up time. To get home again, we make regular announcements throughout the night when the van is leaving shortly, so you just need to get yourself out into the foyer and hop on.
For new members who don't know about this - this is a free service but we would appreciate it if you could drop a donation in the box on the bar. Thank you!

Daffodil Day Thank You

We received this lovely email from Tracey from the Cancer Society - thank you to all members who supported this charity.

Thank you for your support this Daffodil Day.

On behalf of the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Cancer Society, I’d like to thank you for displaying a counter box in support of our 2020 Daffodil Day appeal.

We understand many organisations have been impacted by Covid-19 and the changing alert levels. Your support despite these uncertain times is all the more appreciated.

The total income from our counter boxes in the Rotorua area, raised over $5000.00!

Money raised from Daffodil Day stays in the Waikato/Bay of Plenty region and will go a long way to make a difference for people with cancer and their whānau.

These funds will help us provide free support services to people who need them, fund vital cancer research and provide the public with information on ways to reduce the risk of cancer.

As a community-funded charity, we are reliant on the generosity of the public to continue providing these services.

Once again, thank you for supporting us to make a difference for the one in three New Zealanders affected by cancer. We hope to have your support again in 2021.

Whisky Tasting Evening

Thanks in anticipation of all your support.
