1. Tourism Month
As September is Tourism Month, we encourage you to participate in the number of activations that are underway.  These include:
  • Jerusalema Dance Challenge
  • Cape Nature (Free) Access Week from 16 - 22 September 2020 - Read more here
  • Spring Clean Greater Knysna from 07h00 – 15h00 on Saturday, 19 September.  The Visit Knysna team will be out between Thesen Islands and the Waterfront to do our part.  Should you wish to be involved too, please contact Terry at Ocean Odyssey on 044 382 0321 / marketing@oceanodyssey.co.za.
  • Visit Knysna Photo Challenge:  take photos in the meantime and submit these between 24 and 27 September – details as per the flyer 
  • Support your local restaurant, activity, tourist guide:   discover what the greater Knysna area has to offer - uncover a hidden gem.   A reminder that information guide maps are available at our office, for your distribution.
 
2. Global Best Practice Webinar
Join Wesgro on Tuesday, 15 September for “The Western Cape Guide to Global Best Practice for Supporting Tourism and Hospitality in a time of COVID-19”.   Please register as per the link in the invitation. Read more here
 
3. SATSA Overberg & Garden Route Mega Fam, sponsored by Wesgro
Please see the communication from SATSA should you wish to participate in the presentation opportunity scheduled for Thursday, 22 October at Fancourt: this forms part of the Mega Fam taking place in October through the Garden Route.  Please liaise directly with Ypie Kingma should you be interested. Read more here

6. Total E&P South Africa
In our newsletter of 6 August, we shared information from Total E&P South Africa with regards to the proposed Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) process to be undertaken.  Please see the updated attached communication received with regards to their scoping report.
