Our online antique map gallery is updated daily. For your enjoyment and consideration, please find below a list of our most recent acquisitions.

We hope you and your loved ones remain both safe and healthy.  For now, Geographicus will continue to operate mostly as usual.  One change, we are limiting in-office appointments until further notice.  There also may be a slight delay in processing some orders, depending upon how governments and other businesses (like FedEx) respond to the coronavirus outbreak  While we will continue to ship most orders as they are received, on request we are happy to hold purchases for delayed shipping.

1863 Book and Manuscript Map of the Battle of Gettysburg with Manuscript Notes

The Rebel Invasion of Maryland and Pennsylvania and the Battle of Gettysburg.

Remarkable book with a railroad magnate's appended manuscript maps and annotations relating to the Battle of Gettysburg. Also, an unrecorded early printed map of the Battle of Gettysburg.

A remarkable discovery, this is a fine example of Michael Jacob's scarce 1864 book on the Confederate invasion of Pennsylvania and the Battle of Gettysburg. While the book itself is uncommon and interesting, the most exciting aspects of the piece are manuscript notes, tipped-in maps, and annotations, by railroad magnate Robert S. Hollins, describing the Battle of Gettysburg and its aftermath. PRICE: 9500.00 USD

Tallis's Illustrated Plan of London and its Environs in commemoration of the Great Exhibition of Industry of all Nations, 1851.

One of the most decorative maps of London of the 19th century.

A superbly decorative 1851 John Tallis map of London with elaborate pictorial surround, this map was touted on its release as 'the most beautiful and perfect Plan of London ever produced.' With a finely engraved border consisting of forty illustrated views of London 'public buildings and places of amusement', the map lives up to the publisher's boisterous claim. Centered on Charing Cross, coverage extends from Stamford Hill to West Ham and from Brixton to Shepherds Bush. PRICE: 2500.00 USD

This is an uncommon 1855 George Frederick Cruchley map of London and its immediate environs. Presented here in case format, Cruchley's map depicts the area 30 miles around London, or from Hertford to Turnbridge and Godalming, and from Windsor to Chatham. Exceptionally vivid color work identifies counties, rail lines, roads, and forests. 1945 Je Cherche and Jacques Mercier Map of Occupied Germany After World War II

This is a 1945 'Je Cherche' and Jacques Mercier map of Germany just after the end of World War II in Europe. Depicting from Belgium, Luxembourg, and France to Poland and from Denmark to Austria and Hungary, an extreme amount of detail appears throughout the piece. Cities, towns, and villages are labeled, including Berlin, Vienna, Prague, Bratislava, Budapest, Warsaw, and Amsterdam. Flags mark Nazi prisoner-of-war camps spread out across Germany and Austria. This is a 1904 Laurence Austine Waddell city map or plan of Lhasa, Tibet, created during the 1903 - 1904 British Expedition to Tibet. Likely the earliest detailed plan of the city available outside of Tibet, numerous locations are identified, including bridges, walls, cathedrals, restaurants, and theaters. 1748 North Polar Projection Map Predicting the July 14, 1748 Solar Eclipse

The geography of the great solar eclipse of July 14 MDCCXLVIII. : exhibiting an accurate map of all parts of the Earth in which it will be visible with the North Pole according to the latest discoveries.

Predicts a Solar Eclipse and reveals Arctic Explorations.

This elegant, 1748 north polar projection map was drawn by the English astronomer and writer George Smith and engraved by the great English mapmaker Thomas Jefferys. It was produced for inclusion in Smith's pamphlet describing and predicting the path of the July 14, 1748, solar eclipse. Twenty-four diagrams show the expected appearance of the eclipsed sun as viewed from different cities, and the map's notation shows both the areas from which partial or full eclipses might be seen. This is a 1914 U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey nautical chart or maritime map of Portland Harbor, Maine. The map depicts the region from Old Fort Casco to John's Hill and Broad Cove and from Brighton Corner to Long Island. Portland itself is illustrated with extreme attention to detail, with individual buildings appearing throughout the city. Clason's War Map of the Western Front.

Highlights the Allied losses after the German Spring Offensive and their gains during the Hundred Days Offensive.

This is a 1918 Clason Map Company map of northern France illustrating the movements of the front line in World War I through early September 1918. Unlike World War II, World War I was fought along mostly static lines of trenches in northern France and Belgium from 1914 through 1918. The map depicts the region from the English Channel and Dieppe to Strasburg (Strassburg) in Alsace, then part of Germany, and from Holland and the North Sea to Colmar. PRICE: 425.00 USD

This is an attractive c.1780 Jacques Nicholas Bellin map of the East Indies. The map depicts from Siam (Thailand) and Tsiompa (modern day Vietnam) south to include the Sumatra, Java, and Borneo. The Malay Peninsula (Malacca), Singapore, Borneo, Sumatra, Java, and part of Celebes (Sulawesi), are included. Impressive detail appears along all the coastlines, however little inland information is present, as is common for Bellin's nautical charts. PRICE: 275.00 USD

A beautiful example of Rigobert Bonne's 1771 map of Paraguay. It shows the Governorate of Paraguay just before the 1776 institution of the Viceroyalty of Río de la Plata, but shortly after the 1767 expulsion of the Jesuits; thus illustrating the extent of Jesuit exploration and missionary work in the interior of South America just prior to the Spanish Empire's relegation of Paraguay to the status of a provincial outpost of Buenos Aires, and a buffer state against the Portuguese in Brazil. Lots, or 'sites' are numbered and shaded different colors to differentiate between price points. Patterns, such as dots, diagonal stripes, and cross-hatching, allow for even further specificity in price range. Geographicus Rare & Antique Maps is located in Brooklyn, New York, and was founded by Kevin Brown in 1999. We are generalist antiquarians dealing in historic maps from all over the world and in all price ranges. Our enthusiasm, passion and devotion to scholarship is expressed in our meticulously researched studies of each map offering.  
Geographicus welcomes clients by appointment at our Brooklyn location.  Our hours are Noon to 6PM Monday through Friday, but other appointments, including evenings and weekends, are typically available on request.

We are located in the ground floor of a limestone townhouse in the historic Stuyvesant Heights district of Brooklyn.  The closest subway stop is Gates Avenue on the J train.  Commuting time is about 20 minutes from the Financial District.
