This summer, SMU students gained meaningful work experience via placements at social service agencies and health tech social enterprises. Undergrads Huda Nazihah, Clarice Cheong, Tammi Chng and Aakshi Narang share their experiences working at Beyond Social Services and O’Joy Care Services; while Janessa Kong, Tan Wan Yun and Sanaya Mahajan talk about their stints at Reach52 and Yonah.
In 2014, Dr Alan J. Yu arrived in Bali to complete his dissertation research on Balinese community leadership. He spent the next six years travelling the island interviewing social entrepreneurs, farmers, artists, community builders, educators, politicians and even royal family members. In Part 2 of his #EatPlayLaugh series, Dr Yu introduces us to three outstanding social innovators.
