National Night Out
Personal Protective Equipment Distribution

The Colony Park/Lakeside Neighborhood Association and partners will be hosting a drive-thru Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) distribution on Saturday, October 3 from 10am–1pm at the Turner-Roberts Recreation Center to celebrate National Night Out.
During the event, families can receive free PPE kits that include masks, hand sanitizers, and COVID-19 information. Distribution will be on a first-come, first-serve basis and/or until supplies last.

On August 25, we hosted our second virtual Public Meeting with Catellus Development Corporation.

This month, the Colony Park/Lakeside Neighborhood Association and partners continued their efforts to support students in the community prepare for the new school year. Through this partnership, additional funds were raised to provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for each school listed below:

Flu Shots
Immunization Services

Austin Public Health's Immunization Program works to prevent communicable diseases. It is important to stay up-to-date on you and your families immunizations to protect from life-threatening illnesses. For more information, visit AustinTexas.gov/Immunizations.
Flu shots are available at Shots for Tots/Bug Shots clinics for uninsured children and adults or Medicaid recipients. No one will be denied services if they are unable to pay. Please view the English/Spanish flyers for locations and times.

RENT Assistance Programs
Relief of Emergency Needs for Tenants

The City fo Austin RENT Application Portal will remain open through January 2021 or until funds are expended.
The RENT program provides direct rent support for up to three months for income-eligible Austinites who have experienced a COVID-19-related income loss. All applications, regardless of when they are submitted after the initial opening of the application period, will be given an equal chance for random selection.

The City of Austin’s Healthy Corner Stores Program helps store owners* grow their business by selling healthy foods. It’s free to join. Benefits include free equipment, increased sales, and attracting more customers. We are currently inviting stores to join the program. The following information sessions are intended for corner store owners and managers.

Non-Profit Relief Grant
Grant Reopened

The City of Austin Economic Development Department reopened the Austin Non-Profit Relief Grant to support additional non-profits facing hardship due to the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Applicants could receive grants up to $20,000 to reimburse for eligible expenses including rent, payroll, and other economic needs.

Utility Bill Relief Program Assistance
Emergency Financial Support Plus 1 Program

The City of Austin has taken steps to ensure residential customers have uninterrupted access to utility services and opportunity for immediate utility bill relief. Residential customers are eligible for financial assistance if they, or a member of their household, have experienced a financial hardship, loss of job, or reduction in income related to COVID-19.
