City of Oakland Expanded COVID-19 Testing
The City of Oakland is partnering with Brown and Toland to provide free COVID-19 testing to people who live or work in Alameda County regardless of insurance or immigration status.
Testing is available to anyone who is working or volunteering outside the home who has symptoms (fever, cough, and shortness of breath) or who has been exposed to COVID-19.

Alameda County Emergency Rental Assistance Program
The Emergency Rent Assistance Program (ERAP) is designed to assist very low- to low-income families and individuals who are suffering a temporary financial setback due to the COVID-19 public health emergency and need help with delinquent rent and achieve housing stability.
Rent assistance in the form of a grant for tenants experiencing an inability to pay rent due to a loss of income related to the COVID-19 public health emergency. Up to two months’ worth of rent or $3,500; if previously assisted through another rental assistance program up to one month’s rent or $1,750. The form of assistance will be a grant paid directly to the landlord.

With the progression of COVID-19, public works contractors and their sureties have been focusing on the impacts of the Pandemic, with particular attention to Force Majeure issues. Essentially, the analysis has been tailored to whether the Pandemic would be grounds for a contractor to claim Force Majeure, and thus be entitled to additional time to complete their project without penalty.
