Dear Sheep Vet,
Just in case you haven't already yet heard about, we thought we would let you know about the Sheep Veterinary Society Conference - which is being held on this Saturday 19th September.

This is an event that is free to attend to everyone (you don't even have to be a member of SVS) and there are four very high quality international speakers  - it really is an event not to be missed!  It will be run as four separate webinar sessions & you need to register for each separately (click below on the respective tabs).  All sessions will be recorded but we would really encourage you to attend live for the best experience!

9am - David Slade from Glenridge Park, Mount Barker, Western Australia will be talking about his system of over 10,000 ewes, prime lamb and replacement ewe production. He has a closed flock with an excellent data set. He works with different vets with specialisms within the breeding and feedlot system. (With thanks to MSD Animal Health for sponsoring this session)

12 noon - Dr Felix Njuemie from the University of Bologna is the coordinator of the FAO/OIE Peste des Petits Ruminant global control programme.  Peste des Petits Ruminant is such an important global sheep disease - this is a great opportunity to hear from someone who has first hand experience of its challenges.
Register for David Slade 9am presentation
Register for Melaku Tefera 3pm presentation
Register for Felix Njuemie 12noon presentation
Register for Cindy Wolfe 5pm presentation
3pm - Prof Melaku Tefera from Malawi Department of Veterinary Medicine, is working on Livestock Innovation improvement. He will be talking on ticks and tick borne disease infections, especially in goats. He will also be joined by some of Malawi's vet students. (With thanks to Ceva Animal Health for sponsoring this session)

At 5pm, we will be hearing Dr Cindy Wolfe who is a veterinary specialist in small ruminants at the University of Minnesota and also farms both sheep and beef. She will be talking about lamb production and common sheep health issues in the USA.

This will be followed by the SVS AGM at 6pm
Register for SVS AGM at 6pm
We are really very excited to be supporting SVS in this conference  - Phillipa in particular has put a huge amount of work into arranging all the speakers, with many thanks as well to outgoing president, Nick Hart & incoming president, Amanda Carson.

Very much hoping that you will be able to join us on Saturday.

Best wishes, Fiona & Phillipa
