How can I do my bit?

Thank you for following the latest government guideline – the new ‘rule of six’ - that came into effect on Monday. By doing so, you’re really helping to keep Covid at bay here in Cornwall.

Want to know what else you can do to help?
  • Keep regularly washing your hands and practising good hygeine
  • Keep to the 2m social distancing wherever possible and 1m+ if not
  • If you have symptoms, self-isolate immediately and get tested
  • If you need a test head here to get one booked

Here in Cornwall we have been asking you to contact NHS 111 to be sign posted and sent to the most appropriate service, this will be rolled out across the Uk later this year.

Please only call 999 or visit the Emergency Department/A&E for life threatening and emergency conditions.

If you need urgent – but not emergency – care then your first port of call should be to contact NHS 111 by telephone or online, the team will then advise where you should go and when.

This ensures waiting rooms are not full and that demand can be managed for services in light of the current situation.

Crowdfunding Projects That Matter

Crowdfunder and Cornwall Council have teamed up to award £8,500 to 8 projects that matter in Cornwall.

The ‘Projects that matter: Cornwall’ competition is looking for incredible projects right here on our doorstep that could make a real difference to Cornwall’s communities and help to tackle climate emergency.

Not only will the 8 winning projects receive £1,000 towards a crowdfund campaign and one-to-one Crowdfunder coaching, they’ll be able to apply for up to £5,000 match-funding from the regular Crowdfund Cornwall initiative too.

There’s also a £500 Climate Emergency Bonus for the project that raises the most money via their Crowdfunder campaign.

Recycling week is coming

This year’s week-long celebration of recycling starts on Monday, 21 September.

This year’s theme is ‘Together, we recycle’ and is a thank you to the nation for continuing to recycle despite the challenge of lockdown and a global pandemic.

We are also celebrating our recycling and waste key workers who have heroically carried on collecting while the world slowed down around them.

So, thank you! Together, Cornwall recycles.
