The Prize Foundation recently announced that Prize Fest, a cultural celebration of film, food, music and fashion will take place virtually. Prize Fest will be a combination of live streaming and watch-on-demand content from Oct. 2-11, enabling people all across the world to tune in.
 
The flagship event, Louisiana Film Prize, will feature 20 short films all shot throughout Louisiana. One lucky filmmaker will take home $25,000 – the largest cash prize for a short film in the world. The watching audience will have the ability to vote for their top three favorites, along with expert judges. The winner will be announced at a digital awards ceremony on Oct. 13.
 
The Louisiana Music Prize plans to host a streaming music experience with multiple bands taking the stage to perform for the chance to win $1,000. The Food Prize will feature online cook-alongs with celebrity chefs. Now in its second year, Fashion Prize will air a live streamed fashion show with finalists competing for $2,000.

The State Fair of Louisiana will give fairgoers a “Taste of the State Fair” offering a scaled-back version of the annual event that includes the Junior Livestock Show and the National Brahman Cattle Show, Oct. 29-Nov. 8. Fairgoers will also get to enjoy the food court, which will feature a number of unusual and iconic State Fair foods that people yearn for every year.
 
The new dates for the 114th Annual State Fair of Louisiana are April 29-May 9, 2021. The 11-day event will feature all the food, rides, live music, free show, and attractions that festival-goers love. The State Fair of Louisiana is one of the top fairs in the United States and attracts some of the top food vendors in the country. The Food Network named it one of “Top Fairs to Eat” and featured the Bayou Balls, a trio of deep-fried boudin balls packed with ground pork sausage, liver, rice, and the holy trinity in Louisiana cooking – bell peppers, onions, and celery – all laced with spicy Cajun seasonings.
