Mentoring Program Updates

After a summer of reframing and planning for the Mentoring Program, this year’s participants have been selected and notified. In addition to the traditional mentoring model, this year we have incorporated the Mentoring Pod, a group of experienced educators who can support each other’s practice, especially during this unusual and unprecedented time with moving learning online and ensuring equity for all students. In the next few months, information will be sent to members about participating in next year’s cohort, which will include the continuation of Mentoring Pods.
For more information or if you have questions, please contact Mentoring Program Co-Chairs Julie Sochacki, J.D. at sochacki@hartford.edu or Nicole J. Martone, Ph.D. at nicolejmartone@gmail.com.

NCTE Affiliate Awards

We were very excited to receive two affiliate awards this year, one for recruitment and membership and the other for our newsletter!

We Want You!

Have talents you don’t get to fully use in your classroom? Love working behind the scenes rather than out front? Looking for a good next step in ELA? We’re looking for you to serve on one of our open spots on CTCTE committees. These positions are a great place to start, if you’re not ready to commit to a full board position. As a committee member, you will work with the chair behind the scenes to create content and provide logistical support for the following committees:

Membership
Publications/Social Media
Inclusion
Event Planning

If interested, please complete this survey.
