The International IP Practice Seminar is a one-day, comprehensive CLE program that brings together seasoned experts to provide instruction on the issues of contemporary significance covering patents, trade secrets, trademarks, trade secrets, and design rights. We are proud to co-organize this seminar with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and Kuhnen & Wacker.
Speakers at the seminar include government officials from WIPO, the EPO, the EU IP Office, as well as Dr. Stanley Lai, Chairman of the IP Office of Singapore, and other well-known IP practitioners. |

Keynote Address "Rethinking International IP Practice in the Post-COVID World"
Dr. Stanley Lai specializes in all forms of IP litigation and information technology disputes, and is also a commercial/chancery litigator. He maintains a strong advisory practice for IP/data management and cybersecurity, serving a broad spectrum of clients. He also represents clients in investigations that are undertaken by the Personal Data Protection Commission. In the biomedical and pharmaceutical sectors, Dr. Lai has substantial experience in advising on healthcare and medical IP and regulatory issues concerning medicines, generics, patent linkage, bio-similars, medical devices, clinical trials, product recalls, and product liability.
Dr. Lai is currently the Chairman of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore. Dr. Lai is also a member of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre IP Panel and Singapore Copyright Tribunal. He has published extensively on IP and information technology law, including the book entitled The Copyright Protection of Computer Software in the United Kingdom and an article entitled “Publisher Reigned in on Racing Data Copyright Claim.” He also serves as a Principal Mediator of the Singapore Mediation Centre.
