Dear Pitt students,
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Fall 2020 Student Questionnaire, which was sent out in late July to learn more about your plans as you prepared for the fall 2020 term. View the results of the questionnaire.
In response to your answers to that survey, we also want to provide the following resources:
- The Flex@Pitt instructional model - These resources provide more information about how to be successful this semester:
- Safety concerns and COVID-19 measures - The best thing you can do is stay informed and up to date.
- Racial injustice and xenophobia - What can you do if you feel unsafe? What can you do to advocate, support and advance initiatives around social justice at Pitt? See the resources below for more information.
- Mental health and well-being - Do you have concerns about stress, anxiety, or your health? Care for yourself by contacting the Pitt resources below.
- Financial insecurity - Do you have concerns about paying for college, food insecurity, or job loss? See the resources below for information.
- Food on campus and meal plan questions - Are you not sure about where to eat on campus?
- Technology needs - Are you experiencing connectivity issues, or do you not have access to reliable technology or wi-fi? Connect with Pitt IT for help.

Next Tuesday, September 22, is National Voter Registration Day. Your generation—Generation Z—will make up more than 1 in 10 of eligible voters in 2020, and will go on to become one of the largest voting blocs in American history. Panthers Forward Deadline Approaching!
Pitt seniors on the Pittsburgh campus, who graduate in 2021 and received federal student loans to fund their senior year, can apply to Panthers Forward. The University will select 150 students to participate in the program. Throughout the year, selected students will enjoy mentoring opportunities with Pitt alumni, life-skills programming, and invitations to special events. Shortly after participants graduate, the University will apply up to $5,000 directly to their federal loan balance. Applications must be submitted by Sunday, September 20.

Call for Self-Care Day Proposals
The University Counseling Center, along with campus partners, Citrone 33/Embrace Pittsburgh and JED Campus, is hosting Student Self-Care Day on October 14, 2020. Self-care plays an important role in student wellness, academic success, and stress management. Students will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of self-care and wellness related activities throughout the day.
We are looking for individuals who are interested in facilitating a self-care activity. We encourage proposals that are fun, creative, and engaging to help students learn new ways to care for themselves.
Individuals who are interested in facilitating an activity must submit the following proposal form no later than September 16, 2020. Submit a Student Self-Care Day Proposal.
