Kia ora koutou katoa

This week has reinforced my challenge to me to learn te reo Māori. I set myself the challenge to me aro ki ngā rerenga pu, ki ngā rerenga māmā noa iho (keep it simple, learn the fundamentals). To help with that I have been using my youngest daughter's school book.

It's harder to learn new languages, I find.  At school in the UK I learnt French, German & Latin and then at college I studied Spanish. It all seemed so easy then.

However I am determined to be able to at least say a few key phrases by the end of this year, as well as understanding the key articles of te tiriti.

In line with learning, there's been a few things I have been doing recently.  Over the past two months, I have taken part in Teal Unicorn's New Ways of Consulting course, which challenges you on so many levels and forces you (gently) to find out more about so many different concepts around leadership, management, consulting, business and people. It's been fantastic and if they run it again or you get the opportunity to join any of their courses, I recommend it!

Following on from a conversation I was having with one of my network, some IT Operations teams are struggling to use visualisation / Kanban boards effectively. So I have started to develop a simple workshop which will enable team members, team leaders and managers understand how to visualise, prioritise and measure their work flow. If this is something which would interest you or you think you know someone who would get value out of it, please click below and I'll keep you updated on progress.

Finally, I have joined the LINQ Partner Programme, which enables me to use some very clever software while I work with clients to map value streams, identifying those involved and end to end cost of those value streams. We can then investigate improvements and identify savings before you even try them. I'd be keen to show you what it and I can do to help you identify and drive improvements.

Being part of the LINQ Partner Network also allows me to share additional information with you.

We’re very lucky to have best selling author Doug Laney presenting to us on the 25th of this month, and would like to extend an invitation to you to join us.

“Infonomics” is one of the defining principals of the digital economy. It enables an organisation to understand the value of the data and information it relies on to deliver successful business outcomes.

Without infonomics, it is unlikely that a business will manage its information as an asset which, when collected, stored, managed and used appropriately will enable people to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Doug Laney has been thinking about the management, measurement and monetisation of information for more years than most.

He has gathered hundreds of examples from organisations who have successfully changed their information outlook, creating new value from their data through the delivery of new products and services.

In this webinar, Doug will share his insights into the success that occurs when organisations become data-driven, utilising their information to create exceptional value for staff, customers and shareholders alike.

We’d love you to join us!
