CREATIONTIDE

In our sermon last week, we were taught why Creation matters to God and, therefore, to Christians.  If you missed it, you can watch it again here.

The environment is God's gift to everyone and we are stewards of His creation which we are to tend and take care of.  We are gardeners of His world.

This week, take a walk and discover all the beauty of the earth and think of ways you can support protecting His creation, now and for future generations.

Please Pray For
Our Community: that all residents of our parish will know Jesus more deeply in their lives and have the opportunity to flourish as a community.

Our Country: for all those areas with increasing numbers of Covid-19 cases and those in lockdown.  For Brexit negotiations - that community voices are heard in matters that impact them at the local, city, and county levels.
Our Schools: for the teachers who devote their days to educating all children. For guidance and patience for the parent volunteers as they serve our local schools.

Those unwell & recovering: for God's healing on all those in pain and suffering.

Those grieving the loss of loved ones.

APCM - Sunday 27th September
Please note that the APCM will take place on Sunday 27th September
after the 9am Morning Worship service at St Mary's.  The service will be a short 10 minute worship followed by the APCM. 

To attend, you will still need to book online for your space and details of the Zoom meeting will be communicated shortly.  Reports can be found here.
Creationtide: Week 3

Following our theme of Creationtide, our Stewarding CoG, which seeks to care for our land and buildings in a way that sustains and renews God's creation has been busy working towards 'Shrinking the Footprint' through the Eco Church initiative.
Shrinking the Footprint with St Mary's & St Peter's
The highlights of 2020 so far, have been the enlargement of our “Let It Grow” zone along the entire north wall of St Mary’s churchyard, and energy audits at St Mary’s & St Peter’s last Wednesday.

The audits’ aims are threefold: the environmentally responsible management of our churches, contribution towards the Church of England’s target of net zero carbon by 2030, and to save ourselves some money.
