The BWV Privacy Policy and BWV’s Privacy Guidelines for Clubs have been reviewed and updated in order to: 

•  determine good practice in relation to the privacy of personal information (particularly medical or health information) which BWV or a club may collect, hold and/or use; and
•  provide for the compliance of the BWV policy, and BWV’s Guidelines to clubs, with any privacy law which might apply to  BWV or to a club.

Key points for your club to consider

In so doing your club can use the Guidelines to:

• help apply good practice principles for privacy of personal information; 
• consider how the law relating to health records may apply to your club;  and
• help determine whether the Federal or Victorian Privacy Acts may apply to your club 

You are also welcome to refer to the Bushwalking Victoria Privacy Policy, and adapt as appropriate, to your club's circumstances.
