Studio News

Fall 2020 Fitness at Forever Fit

 
  • All classes can be "Zoomed" into from your location.
  • Members of Release & Restore and Stretch & Strength, can attend in person, in the studio. I can safely accommodate 3 members in the studio. In this case, the door and the windows are open. As it cools off, I can turn on the heat as well. 
  • Bootcamp will continue outside at the Sportsplex for as long as we can. There is a covered area for those wet days.  
  • Personal (1-1) training can continue in the studio where there is lot of room and air flow. I am also able to offer PT off site at outdoor locations such at the Cowichan Sportsplex.
  • Group Personal Training? I am offering 1 Personal Training Group. Wednesdays at 5:30pm.  This group is full. New session starting Dec. 2, 2020

Protocol for classes during Covid

Let's continue to do our part. Thanks for doing your part to keep us all safe. I think we are pretty diligent with distancing and sanitizing. Please review the protocol. 
  • Maintain your 6 foot distance during classes outside and in the studio, even one-one with me. Keep in mind that even if you are in the same bubble with some of the class members, not everyone is in your bubble. I need my 6 feet so please do not be offended if I back away from you.
  • Sanitize your hands before entering the studio, with the sanitizer at the door and on my tailgate on location.
  • Sanitize your hands when you leave.
  • Don't touch your face.
  • Bring your own equipment when you can.
  • Sanitize the equipment that you borrow from me and I'll spray it again and let dry.
Just so you know ...
Please know that I am sanitizing all of the equipment after use, even if you do. The studio is sanitized from the door jam to the bathroom after every member leaves and the mats are hung out in the sun to dry, just as an extra precaution. My bubble is very small with only my husband, my daughter and her boyfriend and my mother in law. Other than that, I keep my 6 feet inside and outside most of the time. I may come up to you from behind to help with form/technique for a few seconds. If you are uncomfortable with this, please let me know. Stores and restaurants give me anxiety so I am very brief even if I do go in. I can not afford to take risks with my life or yours. So if I am safe, I can not infect you : )

Melt Rollers and Balls

 

are In! 


The rollers are gone but I have lots of balls now. I also have one short aka, performance roller which is great for travelling/packing, not that we will be doing a lot of travelling but you can pack it easily in the car, even a suitcase. The downside to the short one is that you can't lay on it vertically as in the rebalance sequence.
There is a Melt Method website to see all of the products if you want to have a look. Keep in mind that these are U.S. prices. By the time it gets to Canada it is double the price. I will put in another order when there are enough to make it worth the time/cost.

We will be using the rollers in classes so it would be good to have your own. 

Bands and Balls and Tubes ... Oh My!


I've brought in some equipment for y'all. Bands, Balls, Tubes. Some of you are wanting your own equipment which is a great idea. We will be using these in classes in the fall. Let me know if need anything. Tubes are $15, Bands are $5, Fit Bands are $5. 
We will be using these stability balls in class soon. It would be a good idea for you to have one of your own.  The balls are $50.ea.

You will need a specific size ball for your height but I can help you with that.

Series of 6 ... and that's a wrap!

This exercise might look familiar but trust me. If you are setting it up correctly, it's a killer.  The challenge, is to do it 3x/week for 4 weeks.
To start, get set up on the roller, then...
  1. Lift and lower yourself 4 x's
  2. Lift and lower with a pause at the top/bottom 4x's
  3. Lift and lower for the pattern/no stops 4x's.... Hold!
  4. Tap your knees together 3x's / Hold / Open knees 4x's

Nordic Walking Clinic

Nordic Walking is the dry land version of Nordic Skiing. Using your upper and lower body for walking means you burn more calories & more body fat than walking.
Using your upper and lower body muscles for Nordic Walking means we use more than 90% of our body's total muscle mass which means we build more muscle mass for burning calories and body fat, not to mention muscle tone... while we walk walk!

 Come join us for a walk and a chin wag. We are social beings and Bonnie says we are much safer outside where there is lots of air flow. Come be social and active outside where we are covid safe and free to make friends. This is free to whomever wants to join. Bring your poles if you want to Nordic Walk or just come walk. Come meet new people or reconnect with people you have not see for a while. The dike is very wide, so we can walk abreast safely. Join us every or any Monday that you can.

R&R offers  a series of gentle release techniques to improve postural alignment, reduce pain, increase mobility and regain stability. Expect to reduce or eliminate back, hip and neck pain. Improve your posture and balance for all the activities you love...or must do : ) We have room for 2 more in the studio on Thursdays at 5

  1. Zoom All you need is a device with a camera. phone, tablet, laptop, desktop. And a space to stand or lay down on the floor. Its easier than you think :)
  2.  Outdoors with Physical Distancing. Parks and Beaches are the best places to get fit anyway : ) Up to 4 members/session.
  3. In the Studio; I am able to accomodate 1 client or 2+ if you are from the same house/bubble.
Would you like to train with a small group of like minded people? These lovely ladies are meeting 1/week in the "new" studio, aka converted garage for more air flow. It's still personal training,  you still have your own individualized program and you still get me as your trainer, you just share me with your training partners. This session is full because GPT is a maximum of 4 for maximum attention. New session starts Dec. 2, 2020. Let's skip the extra 10lbs over Christmas this year ; ) Wednesdays 5:30pm
