The Carbon Literacy Project: Climate Change learning for everyone.

Welcome! The latest news from The Carbon Literacy Project...

"Climate change does not respect borders; it does not respect who you are - rich and poor, small and big. Therefore, it is what we call 'global challenges,' which require global solidarity."
~ Ban Ki-Moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations

 15,000 Certified Learners!

We are excited to announce another milestone in our history books… 15,000 citizens have now been officially certified as Carbon Literate. As a result, over 30,000 actions have been pledged by individuals, organisations and communities, directly reducing our carbon emissions.

Find out more about the journey to 15,000 here.

Winchester Tries Out the New LA Toolkit

The Local Authorities Carbon Literacy Toolkit launched at an online event on the 29th of September. As part of this, there was a discussion between our Phil Korbel, and Naomi Wise, Sustainability Officer at Winchester City Council. It was brilliant to hear such a positive personal experience from a trainer using the newly released LA Toolkit in practice.

GM Green Summit 2020 - A CL Showcase

Over the last 6 months, our work at The Carbon Literacy Project has undergone something of a transition. With the move to online learning and distance delivered training, we thought that the Greater Manchester Green Summit 2020 would be a good opportunity to showcase the brilliant work that some of our partner organisations are doing.

Find out how a variety of sectors are approaching this new learning style here.

 Cumbria Action for Sustainability

Our friends at Cumbria Action for Sustainability are currently recruiting two new colleagues to help deliver the most extensive and exciting climate change programme ever seen in Cumbria - including a program of Carbon Literacy training. These roles could be great opportunities for you, our Carbon Literacy graduates, or, if you can think of anyone that might be interested in these fantastic opportunities, please pass the details along.

You can find out more about these roles here.

A UNIQUE PROJECT

The Carbon Literacy Project is a unique project, working with everyone who lives, works or studies, to offer a day's worth of training to the Carbon Literacy Standard. Once Carbon Literate, we have an instinctive understanding of the carbon impacts of our activities, are able to make informed choices, and, driven by the urgency, act positively to address climate change.
