Creepy Creative Costume Contest!

Whether you're making a costume to show off on Zoom, dressing up your pet for a socially-distanced walk, sprucing up your home with decorations, or looking back at Halloweens past, we want to see your reuse techniques at their most creepy and/or creative!

Our first "Creepy Creative Costume Contest" has four categories:  People costumes (Adult), People costumes (Kids), Pet costumes, and/or Home decorations.   It is easy to enter by posting + tagging on social media, and each post counts as one entry into our raffle.  The contest runs from Wednesday October 7 through midnight on October 31, 2020. If you have more than one costume or decoration to share, post each one individually for extra entries. You may enter as many categories as you like.

There will be four winners, one in each category. Winners will receive a  "shopping spree" at CCRx and a CCRx goody bag featuring  a "Trash is just a Failure of Imagination" t-shirt.     Winners will be announced on November 5, 2020.

We'll be re-sharing our favorite costumes and decorations throughout the month and can't wait to see what you all have created!

Specialists + EBay Sellers Needed

CCRx receives donations ranging from vintage Lionel trains to printer ink and everything in between.  To find homes for these niche objects -- within and beyond our normal audience --  we building a team of Subject Matter Specialists and EBay Sellers for specific categories of donated items.

Subject Matter Specialists will oversee how items are organized in the warehouse; make referrals to potential recipients, such as teachers, nonprofits, community groups; and sometimes refer items for online sales to our CCRx Ebay Sellers / Charity Shop.

Both Specialists and Sellers will start on a volunteer basis and we will negotiate in-kind renumeration and possible contract employment.   EBay sellers will work on commission to be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

Learn more here.  Together we'll help Chicago teachers + Nonprofits get materials and inspiration they need and keep great things out of the landfill!
