The Alameda County Public Health Department has released a statement that it will allow the following additional activities to open with restrictions as allowed by the State for counties in the Red Tier beginning Friday, October 9. See PRESS RELEASE.


The Pleasanton Library will remain CLOSED until the City can ensure every system is in place to protect our patrons. The City of Pleasanton Library and Recreation Department will announce a reopening date when this determination has been made. Playgrounds in Alameda County will remain closed. Beginning October 13, elementary schools that complete a COVID-19 health and safety reopening plan may reopen if ready.

Businesses should refer to the County's Guidance and Resources to support safe opening. As COVID-19 still poses substantial risk to Alameda County residents and workers, the updates to the Health Officer Order represent a phased approach to opening to avoid dramatic increases in disease transmission and re-closures. Coming to a table near you! The City, in collaboration with the Pleasanton Downtown Association, is providing tabletop displays to all downtown restaurants to inform diners of Alameda County's Face Covering Order guidelines as they relate to dining. Restaurants outside of downtown may request displays by emailing econdev@cityofpleasantonca.gov.

Combined with physical distancing of at least 6 feet and frequent handwashing, face coverings reduce the chance that an infected person - who might not have symptoms - can infect others and can decrease transmission in the community overall if everyone wears them. The California Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA), operating within the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz), kicked off its “Grow with Google” workshop series to help California small businesses grow their digital footprints. Check out the last workshop on How to Use YouTube to Grow Your Business on October 7 at 10:00 am PT. Business will learn about best practices for creating a YouTube Channel and compelling video content that promotes products and services and drives engagement with their brand. REGISTER HERE. The Tri-Valley Career Center offers many resources for job seekers including a Job Board and a new tip sheet, "COVID-19 Job Search Steps". The tip sheet walks job seekers through the steps in a job search and correlates their services to those steps. Business may also post job openings on the Job Board. TVCC also serves the Welfare to Work population in the Tri-Valley through the Alameda County's Social Services Agency (SSA) at a new office in Livermore (on Constitution Drive by Costco).
