October Special Mission Offering
Winter Clothing For School Children

Each year FPC collects a special mission offering in order to provide winter clothing for children at local schools. Partnering with Coolidge, Garfield, Monroe, and Adams elementary schools, FPC provides much-needed funds to school counselors to use in times of need.

FPC began supporting this important mission about 8 years ago when it was brought to our attention that children at local Enid schools were wearing flip-flops and t-shirts to school during the winter. This was not a fashion choice; it was a sign of a great need in our community for children to have warm and appropriate clothing during the colder months of the year.

Instead of collecting shoes and coats, FPC's Mission Committee recognized that school teachers, principles, and counselors would best know the needs of their students, which is why each year we provide funds to the schools mentioned above. In past years we have been able to give each school up to $500 for this important mission!

All gifts this month will be matched up to $2,000.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
Drive-Thru Prayer will take place on Wednesday, October 7, from 4:30-5:30pm at the Breezeway entrance to the church. Come receive a blessing, share your joys and concerns, and go away assured of God's presence!
Parents and Young Adults!
FPC's Parents and Young Adults Group will be meeting starting this Wednesday, September 16, and throughout the Fall and Winter! We'll be meeting at 5:30pm at Otwa's and you're invited to bring a picnic dinner!

Childcare
provided!

Prayer, Meditation, and Spiritual Practices Through the Ages
Wednesdays at 5:30 pm
Location: Outside under the Tree at The First Presbyterian Church
(Location may change some weeks based on activity and weather!)

Participants should bring a chair or blanket to sit on and a snack dinner if they choose. Please also bring a face covering to wear.

In this course we will examine and practice various spiritual and prayer disciplines that have been utilized by Christians over the past two centuries. The goal of this class is to broaden our understanding of what “prayer” can look like, and gain some new tools for finding peace during these turbulent times.

A new experience for Advent! Final week to order!
After the enormous success of Camp-In-A-Box, our friends at Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center are pleased to offer Advent-In-A-Box!

The Ferncliff Advent-In-A-Box will provide tons of Advent activities in a time when our holiday traditions have to look a bit different. Advent-In-A-Box will hold 4 sections of activities, one for each week of Advent. These advent activities will be low stress for busy folks, encourage family and community connection, and help you prepare for Christmas!   The activities in Advent-In-A-Box are meant to be done flexibly over the course of the week, some individually and some with others. In addition, there will be a surprise gift to help you celebrate Christ’s birth on Christmas!

Special Note: There are two version of Advent-In-A-Box, one for children and families and one for teens and adults. FPC will be providing a children and families box to church families free of charge.

If you would like an Advent-In-A-Box in the teens and adults edition, please click the button below to reserve one today! The cost $11 per box and it is recommended that there be one box per person in the household. Payment can be made electrically by using the Give Now button below or by mailing a check to the church.
