Dear VCS Families,
It has been an exciting week around here. I do not remember having such high participation in spirit week before. It has been fun to see everyone (teachers-pictured below, staff, and administration included) jumping in and having fun. The student body seems very happy and content. Isn't that a huge blessing?
It was great to see our middle school football team playing this week. They won 26-14. Our middle school and high school teams have had games and the cheering from the fans really gave them a boost. I watched our middle school volleyball team come from behind at 13-16 to end up winning 25-16!! The excitement continues into our HOMECOMING weekend. Normally we would have a school dance and present the Homecoming Court but because of COVID, the student council has come up with some creative ways to move things outside. We will be having a social across the street at the campground with the world's largest bonfire (I may be exaggerating a little, but it will be huge), the court will be presented, and they will have a meal together. Our soccer team (Lourdes/Valley Christian team) will play a home match on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. Make plans to come out and cheer them on.
A quick report on the construction work being done outback. The retention pond and new parking lot have been started, and the ground is being prepped for the cement slab for our new building to be poured. I hope you were able to see the picture from our dedication ceremony with all of our middle school students last week.
As always, please remember to keep our school in your prayers. We truly covet them. Have a wonderful weekend.
In His Service,
Brad Dunn
Head of School
