The Third Annual Keep Carroll Beautiful Green Run was held on Saturday, October 3rd, along the beautiful Carrollton GreenBelt. Keep Carroll Beautiful uses this race to raise much-needed funds for our community recycling events, beautification efforts, and litter clean-ups. This year's turnout was amazing as we almost doubled our 2019 participation with 80+ runners!
5K was made possible by our sponsors...
..and by runners like you!
Thank you!
Please check the KCB blog post for results and pictures!

In September, KCB helped the Whitesburg Library Community Garden with a purchase of a few plants, seeds, and garden soil. We are so happy to get the latest report from Mrs. Ruth Fuller: the seed-started turnips and lettuces are doing great!

Go Green Day at Central Elemntary
|
|
Central Elementary Teacher - Nicole Robinson, hosted a "Go Green Day" of STEM Exploration just before the school year started. We were happy to join in and do a small, hand-on experiment with the kids. Our tiny non-point pollution models came in handy as the kids sprinkled roadside trash (oatmeal), cow manure (chocolate pudding powder), and car oil (pink paint) on the model and then sprayed everything with water! We watched the pollution get into streams, then the river, and end up in the lake. Not a pretty view!

Please do not leave any recyclables in the back of KCB office!
Keep Carroll Beautiful strives to be the information hub for all things recycling in Carroll County. While we may offer programs and recycling events for specific items, we no longer accept recyclables that can be easily dropped off at locations throughout the county.
While we appreciate the effort to do the right thing, leaving bulbs and batteries in the back of our Dixie Street office often ends up with broken glass and creates health hazards to our staff. We are working on restarting some of the collection programs, but in the meantime, we are not accepting any items at our office.
