The 2020 Virtual INBRE Research Retreat was a success! My thanks to the leadership and staff that worked to create the virtual experience. Here are some highlights:
  • 99 registered participants including 30 students
  • 21 presenters including a plenary, keynote, 8 INBRE science talks, a COVID panel, and presentations on network core resources
  • 23 posters
  • Alaska debut of "Picture a Scientist"
  • a fantastic student workshop!

Funding Opportunity Announcement
Announcement Date:  September 20, 2020
Submission Date/Time:  Oct. 13, 2020 at 5pm AKST

Funding Period:  April 2021 - July 31, 2021
Alaska INBRE's primary aim is to expand the multi-disciplinary research and teaching network to support biomedical and health research expertise, infrastructure, and translational capacity. Requests must meet one of the goals of Alaska INBRE, which is to increase capacity in Alaska for biomedical and health research, including One Health and basic biomedical research themes. This award is intended to address the needs for special requests as follows:

Equipment and Other Support:  Expenditure deadline July 31, 2021. One-time expenditures like equipment or renovations. Prior to award, requests will be sent to NIH for approval. No carryover is allowed.

URSA AWARD OPPORTUNITIES FOR 2020-2021:  The Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity invites degree undergraduate students taking 6 or more credits to apply for travel and project funding each semester. Applications are currently being accepted for students wishing to virtually present work at a conference or meeting.
