Time Crunch Card
It was getting towards 4pm yesterday and I only had the 3 cards done, which would have been fine for the E-News, but I wanted a 4th one to round everything out. My eyes fell to the Gina K stamp set (the one with the heron) and the row of bare trees and I had a lightbulb moment to grab my Distress Oxides and regular cardstock and see what I could create.
By far, this is my favorite card of the four and it took me 5 minutes to finish! I should have taken progress photos but I was running out of time, remember? I chose 2 Oxide colors: Carved Pumpkin and Aged Mahoganey and smeared them side by side on my glass craft surface and generously spritzed the two. I quickly smeared/dragged the top half of the card through the 2 colors and then dabbed color. I liked the result immediately and moved on to the bottom half. For that I chose gathered twigs and forest moss and smeared them side by side and spritzed as in step 1. I used the same dragging motion across both colors just a couple of times and then dabbed in areas as well. The result was quick and once I dried the panel with a heat tool, I stamped the trees and repeated the pattern to fill in the width. I used VersaFine Smokey Grey rather than Onxy Black. I found a sentiment to stamp and gold acrylic paint splatters finished the card! So very happy with it.
