Governor Brown announced a new program to provide masks and gloves to small business in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Governor, in partnership with the Oregon Legislature’s Emergency Board, allocated $10 million from the federal CARES Act funding for the purchase of protective supplies. The state of Oregon is fulfilling orders at no charge until resources are depleted. In addition to the small business program, the Early Learning Division (ELD) is providing supplies such as gloves, disinfecting wipes, masks and more to child care providers around the state as part of the effort. The order form is online and is now accepting orders. Businesses and child care providers can access the form here.
The Washington Department of Commerce has partnered with 20 community-based organizations statewide to provide technical assistance and other resources to underserved small businesses affected by COVID-19. Small business owners now have more places to seek culturally and linguistically relevant help for dealing with COVID-19, thanks to expansion of the Small Business Resiliency Assistance program. Read the full news release.
The Oregon Cares Fund for Black Relief and Resiliency will provide cash grants of $500 to $3,000 to Black individuals, Black-owned businesses, and Black-led nonprofit organizations who have experienced financial adversity due to COVID-19. All grants must be awarded before December 30, 2020. Find more details here.
