Will it ever stop raining? Because it’s only been a few days of steamy windows, pattering of rain on the bathroom window and drying off by the front door whilst throwing jackets onto radiators and truthfully I think I’m still being quite romantic about the fact that quite frankly, the weather has turned a bit shit...

Joe said that the novelty of autumn is still fresh and it’s only a matter of time before I start complaining, but perhaps I just need to invest in some good Wellington boots and start dressing practically so it doesn’t- because I think having a little bit of rose tinted weather perspective is keeping me going right now…

Anyway- this week feels like it has flown by in a heartbeat. It’s been a bit of a ‘worky’ one, tackling admin, working on a couple of projects which is really exciting (and nice to be in a small groove), whilst also sorting out my wardrobe and doing the grand wardrobe transition (i.e putting away my summer shorts that don’t quite fit and dusting off my pancake stack beret collection).

Also, I hope it’s okay that this space isn’t always filled with the heaviness that sometimes feels like it can be constant in the world. Part of me grapples with feeling like I should touch on the events of the week like Dara Ó Briain on Mock The Week, but equally- with social media pretty much daily doing that job, sometimes it’s quite nice to keep this little Sunday segment light and comforting- and I hope you don’t mind. I’ll make sure to keep peppering it with what’s important (because truly that isn’t just shoes and little birds singing)- but if I’ve learnt anything this year- it’s that you can definitely strike a balance between the two, even if it takes a little bit of figuring out.

Have a gorgeous Sunday and week ahead- don’t forget your brollies!

(I always love Bee's beautiful photographs, whether that's Edinburgh or London- they always feel so cosy yet cinematic)

  • One thing Joe and I watched this week which I always love is Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing. It always feels like such a wholesome tonic- and as well as being the biggest Bob Mortimer fan, love listening to their silliness alongside some really lovely life affirming conversations (as well as Bob's recipes too). If you need some mid-week pick me ups, I can't recommend enough.
  • It's no secret how brilliant Michelle is, but one post of hers I always look forward to are her 'Petite Joys' blog posts, which always inject such a lovely ray of sunshine into the week. She's the most beautiful writer and photo taker, and if you don't follow her- why on earth not?
  • If you're after some delicious, seasonal yet simple veggie and vegan recipes, Gem's beautiful new cookbook is finally out this week and it is full of totally culinary diamonds. Whether you need imaginative breakfasts, exciting dinners or creative puds- this will reinvigorate any seasonal kitchen ruts.
  • Being a serial worrier, this post called 'Are All My Friends Mad At Me?' on The Cut rang very, very true after the last few months of lockdown. It also offered a strong sense of reassurance, and explains how some of us are worrying a little more about our relationships in a time of distancing and isolation.
  • And here are some tweets that have cracked me up this week- including thisthis for some serious stress reduction, this tweet which made me belly laugh, an iconic letter by one of my favourite people on Twitter (is that weird? I hope not) and finally some pure joy.

P.S This little picture is also so worth saving, and reminded me that listening to number one is always the most important.

If your week is ever in need of some pure, unadulterated joy- I cannot recommend following Crumpet and Dumpling enough. My two little favourite birds online- their lettuce hats, songs and Instagram lives are a total joy, and always always bring a smile to my day. Quite frankly, style ICONS.

In case you're in need of any new season wardrobe inspiration, this week I f i n a l l y updated my blog shop with some of my favourite pieces I've spotted floating around online (ooft and there's some goodies- look at that layering top collar)! I feel like I so very rarely update it, but actually it's quite nice to have a little wish list of things that have caught my eye to remind myself of, or even some nice things to inspire a little bit of outfit inspiration every now and again- I promise to keep it updated a little more regularly!
If you feel like you've been socially distanced from motivation, I've written a little blog post about how I find some drive during the week...
A throwback post, but one which helped me remember five of the best lipsticks I used to turn to again and again...
If you're in need of some same-city staycation inspiration, look no further than this little guide to East London.
To carry on my romanticising of seasons changing, this post transported me straight back to the seaside in winter time.
