Hello <<First Name>>,

I am currently in the beautiful Douro Valley in the North of Portugal where I am helping host a retreat focused on wellbeing. This is work I do on the side because it’s aligned with my values of building community and creating spaces to have meaningful conversations. Here is a snap from the retreat 📸

Anyway, I am working hard to publish my new video next week. For a hint on what it will be about, watch this beautiful short film by Erik Wernquist. Can you guess the topic? 😊

Moving on, a few weeks ago I watched The Social Dilemma on Netflix and I cannot recommend it enough. I knew social media was bad, but this time it really sank in how bad it can be: from teenagers' mental health to social unrest, the potential damage of its flawed business model is enormous.

In the decades to follow our attention will be our most important asset, so we should protect it carefully. Personally since watching the doc I limited (from the phone settings) my daily access to Instagram (15 min) and YouTube (30 min), with my screen going gray at 10 pm until 7 am. So far it improved the quality of my attention throughout the day.

On the same note, I recently listened to neuroscientist Dr. Andrew Huberman on the Rich Roll Podcast talking about how we can rewire our belief system. He says: "For people who want to change their brain, the power of focus is the entry point." Intense focus, along with a sense of urgency is fundamental to neuroplasticity, so - again - protect and, possibly, train your attention as much as you can. 🧘‍♂️

Other things I’ve enjoyed this month:

→ Is it possible to take a picture of a Galaxy from your backyards? To know the answer watch this brilliant video by Johnny Harris. 🌌

→  My favourite track this month is Love we found by Bob Moses 💙

→ This quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson: “We fly to beauty as an asylum from the terrors of finite nature.” 😌

Until next month,
Dario
