Cowlitz Coast Salish Virtual Language Weekend

The first-ever Cowlitz Coast Salish Language Weekend was held October 24 and 25. About 25 enthusiastic community members attended the Virtual Language Weekend. This event served as an opportunity for Cowlitz Tribal members to revitalize their sleeping language. Currently, Coast Salish Cowlitz has no fluent speakers. The Language Weekend was the first of many more to come!

Virtual Lakota Language Weekend

LLC partnered with the University of Denver for another Virtual Lakota Language Weekend on October 17-18. Over 30 participants attended this two day event to advance their knowledge of Lakȟótiyapi! Thank you to Lakota teachers Allen Wilson and Cherella Hughes, and to everyone who participated and made this Language Weekend a success!

Lakota Audio Series Volume 2

The Lakota Language Consortium has started working on Volume 2 of the Lakota Audio Series. Volume 2 of this audio series will feature kinship terms, verbs using body parts, and much more! November 14-15: Virtual Lakota Language Weekend

In collaboration with RCAS Title VI Indian Education, LLC is gearing up for another Virtual Lakota Language Weekend! This event is open to parents and students that are enrolled in Rapid City Area Schools (RCAS). We look forward to seeing all the participants and Lakota instructors enjoying a weekend of Lakȟótiyapi!

November 19: Crow Dictionary App Launch Event

The Crow Language Consortium in partnership with the Crow Indian Tribe, The Language Conservancy, and Little Big Horn College is announcing the release of a breakthrough Crow dictionary app! You are invited to join us as we introduce the Crow Dictionary App virtually through Zoom on Thursday, November 19th at 1pm MT. For more information, click on the event Facebook page.

November 21: TLC's Autumn Gala/Fall Fundraiser

TLC invites you to join us virtually for an hour of language reawakening at the 2020 TLC Autumn Gala on Saturday, November 21st at 4pm EDT. This virtual event is an opportunity to celebrate accomplishments and milestones reached in language revitalization. Each $5 raffle ticket automatically enters you into a drawing to win prizes including CDs, framed original artwork, and more!
