SEPTEMBER UPDATES

One of my favorite things about serving as the Senator to Senate District 3 is showing people what I love most about Pueblo and Southern Colorado. When Governor Polis told me about his plans to visit the district, I jumped at the chance to show him around. Between visiting Pueblo Community College's new learning lab, to visiting Musso Farms, I would say that the Governor received a master class in why Southern Colorado is far superior to any other part of our state.

One of the highlights of the day was spending some time with my son and Governor Polis at the annual Junior Livestock Fair. Even though the State Fair looked much different this year, I am glad that the Governor and I were able to keep this tradition alive and support our young agricultural leaders!
ELECTION SECURITY, VOTE BY MAIL AND MORE WITH JENA GRISWOLD
Last week, I had the honor of joining Colorado's Secretary of State Jena Griswold for a town hall on Colorado's approach to the upcoming election. Voting by mail isn't new to me, and it isn't new to Colorado. I first voted by mail when I was deployed to Iraq in 2003, and Colorado has been an all vote by mail state for several years now. We came together for this conversation because we both share the belief that Colorado's vote by mail system is safe, secure and EVERYONE in Colorado deserves to have their voice heard. It is important that everyone starts making a plan to vote. This includes double checking your registration information, learning when your county clerk begins sending ballots to active voters, and finding your local polling station or drop off box. Visit www.govotecolorado.gov to get started on your voting plan today!

Yesterday, I joined my colleagues at Pueblo Community College as they unveiled their new state of the art welding lab. With this new expansion, PCC is ready to train the next generation of welders, full job openings and boost the economy of Southern Colorado. Congratulations to PCC and the future welders of Colorado!
COVID-19 TESTING
For several months, we have all been putting in a lot of hard work and making plenty of sacrifices in order to win the fight against COVID-19. Colorado is on a good path, but it is important we keep up the good work, especially as we approach the colder months. Wearing a mask, limiting contact with strangers, and adequately washing your hands are still key. If you are starting to feel symptoms, I encourage you to take advantage of Pueblo's drive-thru testing location. Open Monday through Friday with some limited weekend hours, the testing location is a great community resource that can help us limit further spread of COVID-19. Learn more about the testing facility below.
COVID-19 Testing
Even though the 2020 legislative session has concluded, our work is not done. If you have any questions, concerns, or issues you need support on, feel free to call my office at 303-866-4878 or email us at senleroygarcia@gmail.com.

Sincerely,
