Senior Center Update

Autumn Greetings!
This month, we welcome the fall weather and all of the changes that this season has to offer. One of the biggest changes is opening our building to in person programming. Your health and safety is our top priority, so we encourage you to call or email us with any questions regarding our reopening guidelines and procedures.

We hope you find our biweekly e-newsletter informative and continue to visit our virtual bulletin board for new programs and community events. Along with this month’s e-newsletter, we are reestablishing our monthly events calendar for your convenience. Download our October calendar here. The Senior Center calendar will be included in the first e-newsletter of each month and will also be posted on our website.

We are grateful for the opportunity to continue offering our Senior Center members fun and engaging programs both virtually and, now, in person! Thank you for your continued support and patience as we navigate this new way of doing things together.

Book Club Returns Virtually! — Zoom Meeting
If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed! On May 17, 2014, Admiral William H. McRaven addressed the graduating class of the University of Texas at Austin on their Commencement day. Taking inspiration from the university's slogan, "What starts here changes the world," he shared the ten principles he learned during Navy Seal training that helped him overcome challenges not only in his training and long Naval career, but also throughout his life. He explained how anyone can use these basic lessons to change themselves-and the world-for the better. Join us for a lively virtual discussion on this life changing quick read. Directions to sign in on your computer virtually or phone in for the discussion will be in the October 15 e-news. Call the Senior Center to pick up your copy of Make Your Bed by William H. McRaven from October 5 through 16. Book Club discussion will be on Friday, November 20.
