This week has an action-packed Friday!

10-11 AM - Powerful research flash talks with Plant Biology & Conservation
12-2 PM - Equity in the GeoSciences Coffee Chat
12-1 PM - SustainNU Book Club

This is a new series of informal discussions on the topic of equity, diversity, justice, and anti-racism in geosciences, in policies at Northwestern, and in the world around us. This will primarily be a space for undergrads to talk freely and build community.

These chats are in partnership with GeoEquity, a three-pillar initiative launched by graduate students and faculty of the EPS department. The three pillars are "Anti-Racism," "Outreach and Fundraising," and "Diversity and Inclusion," and they are working toward a more equitable graduate application process, celebrating and incentivizing outreach, and stimulating personal reflection.

These coffee chats will serve as a bridge between the graduate students and undergraduate students, where undergrads' ideas and perspectives can be heard and incorporated into active initiatives. At this first meeting, two graduate students from GeoEquity will be there as well!
