Python is a popular language for scientific computing and great for general-purpose programming as well. This is a beginner-level workshop for researchers presented by OU Libraries. Our workshops cover better practices for research, data, coding, and communication. No prior experience is needed (i.e., no prerequisites). Register online. "Funding at the National Science Foundation: Strategies and Recent Developments" with Dr. Toby Parcel

Toby L. Parcel is Sociology Professor Emerita at North Carolina State University. Her recent research has focused on the effects of work, family and education on child and adolescent cognitive and social outcomes, as well as school resegregation in the upper South. She is the co-author of three books, two edited volumes and numerous articles. Her work has been published in the American Sociological Review, American Journal of Sociology, Social Forces, Journal of Marriage and Family, Journal of Health and Social Behavior, and Social Science Research, among other outlets. She has served in numerous administrative posts, mostly recently completing a three-year term as Program Director for the Sociology Program at the National Science Foundation.
