RCAC Events & Announcements

The RCAC is hosting the Art of Craft Exhibition November 3rd to 14th at the Rossland Art Gallery.

The Call for Submissions is open!

Craft has been defined as the decorative arts that relate to functional objects that are used in daily life. These objects require a variety of historical skills and techniques to produce and are often underrepresented in the broader arts community. This exhibition offers an exclusive forum for the local craft persons/artisans working with wood, pottery, glass, textiles, metal, mixed media and jewelry to display their skills, explore their personal aesthetics and to share with the broader community their most expressive work. This exhibition, highlighting craft, provides an opportunity for the viewing public to contemplate the role of artisanal craft as a reflection of culture in our day to day life.

Submissions are due October 26, 2020.

Click here for submission criteria and to enter.

Trail and District Arts Council's Six Beats Apart Series

presents:

John McLachlan 'Call it Home'

Friday October 16th at 7:30 pm to a maximum 50 audience members.

Part nostalgia, part history, part about today; a John McLachlan concert is a journey through story, with songs that connect us with who we are and where we come from.

'Call it Home' is a musically dramatic journey that re-ignites glowing memories of summer vacations, explores the pains of growing up, and sheds light on the realities of adulthood with its realization that we are all part of a bigger ebb and flow. The songs tell of youth, the passage of time, and the vibrancy of life on Hornby Island which John McLachlan now calls home. “Call It Home” traces a personal yet universal journey of appeal to all ages.

Tickets are $25 and on sale. Tickets may be purchased online 24/7 or by calling the Box Office at 250-368-9669 from Monday to Friday 12-4 pm. Only individuals in the same household, or your “double bubble”, may be seated together. Tell us who you would like to sit with in the 'comments' section when purchasing your tickets on-line.
